Stop messing around with channels

According to information being received from our fellow bloggers, it seems that Dialog have removed "Animax" from their lineup and replaced it with the no good "SET SAB". According to an email that we received from a subscriber, Dialog customer care are saying that another cartoon channel will be introduced instead of "Animax". According to them "Animax" may be returned in a few months time.

We do not believe that "SET SAB" will remain for long and may be replaced with "Citi Hitz" or the mystery cartoon channel. This is definitely a short sighted bad management decision by Dialog TV and brings a big question mark over the capabilities of Mr. Nushad Perera to continue being the head of this company. Dialog should at least employ a person with experience in managing a pay television company in order to advice Mr. Nushad and his team. Dialog nor its parent company Telekom Malaysia have any experience in operating a pay television company, so this seems to be why we are having some of these problems. However this is not an excuse and they should raise the standard of their service soon otherwise competition from LBN, SLT IPTV and Comet Digital will affect Dialog TV badly.

Undoubtedly "Animax" is one of the least viewed English Language channels on Dialog TV but is viewed more than the Hindi channels on the platform and the recent introducing of programmes such as "Supernatural" and "Andromeda" has increased the popularity of this channel. If Dialog TV wants to introduce another channel then they should launch the next transponder soon and add the channels to it, or they could remove one of the Hindi channels for this task.

If subscribers want "Animax" reintroduced they should call the Dialog TV hotline - 0777679679 or call the general number and demand that they speak to someone at top level management. Dialog TV should reintroduce "Animax" immediately for the benefit of the few who watch this channel.

We are also getting information that some channels have shifted positions in the Dialog TV lineup, so it looks like subscribers will have to do a channel rescan.

Please keep us updated on the latest on Dialog TV as the days progress.

I think the main reason for the removal of the Animax is that they don't want to remove any Hindi Channel which is listed under the Rs. 100/- package.

I can remember once rhey removed VH1 which was the only and the best full time english music channel during the world cup times. It was returned only after being scolded by the angry subscribers.

as the Blog Admin has correctly pointed out the top management of Dialog TV has no idea about the service they suppose to provide. It's clearly visible that they think they can do whatever they want and at the same time they think that subscribers are babies to accept any stupid decission they make.

Admin,

From the recent behaviour of DTV it seems that management teams at DTV have gone off their head.

At least they dont know what their boss wants. Very recently Dr. Hans Wijesuriya - CEO of Dialog Telekom made a public speech and this was what he said

"Consumers, the driving force of business organisations - Dr. Hans Wijesuriya
Treating consumers with care and designing products to suit their needs is vital because they are the driving force of business organisations, said CEO Dialog Telekom Dr. Hans Wijesuriya.

He was addressing the launch of the Bank of Ceylon (BoC) Prestige Plus Current Account for professionals and busy executives at the bank head office in Colombo on Wednesday.

Dr. Wijesuriya said no business organisation could succeed without a consumer friendly market policy. The market capitalisation of Dialog Telekom which is over US$ 2 billion comes from over four million consumers. "

DTV Marketing buggars should read and memorise the vision of their own CEO. Customers of DTV are treated with utmost disrespect and and we are subject to whims and fancies of individuals of DTV management.

Removing of Animax without considering the customers view is a very fine example of this booriosh and uppish behaviour.

DTV YOU CAN FORGET YOUR CUSTOMERS. BUT TRY TO AT LEAST RESPECT THE VISION OF YOU OWN BOSS.

I dont think that SET SAB will be replaced with antoher better one. Just because they have already altered the channel lineup for SET SAB to fit after the SET channel. So thats it. SET SAB will be permanent. I just thought they would replace it by anther english channel.

I AM HAPPY NOW BCOZ ADMIN HAVE UNDERSTOOD THIS NUSHAD PERERA IS A USELESS MAN FOR THE CUSTOMERS OF THE DTV AND DTV ITSELF. I HAVE BEEN TELLING ABOUT THIS LAST FOUR MONTHS.

THIS MAN HAS BEEN ALWAYS FULL OF CONCEPTS. INNOVATIVE MARKETING, SACHET MARKETING, FIRST IN THE WORLD SET PLANS ETC ETC.. BUT ALL THESE ARE NOT USEFUL TO CUSTOMERS.

WHO GAVE RIGHTS TO DTV TO REMOVE CHANNELLS AS AND WHEN THEY WANT. DONT THEY HAVE THE SLIGHTESET COURTESY TO OBTAIN CUSTOMERS OPINION ABOUT THIS ?

I THINK DTV HAS GONE CRAZY. BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE DTV SHOULD STREAMLINE FIXALATION AND AUDIO PROBLEMS. HOW MANY TIMES PEOPLE HAVE COMMENTED ABOUT THESE ISSUE.

IT WAS LIKE SPEAKING TO A BLIND WALL. BUT WHEN DTV OPEN THEIR EYES IT WILL BE TOO LATE.

DTV HAS NOT UNDERSTOOD THE CUSTOMER POWER EVEN THOUGH HANS WIJESURIYA RECENTLY COMMENTED THAT MOST IMPORTANT THING HE LEARNED AT DIALOG TELEKOM WAS " CUSTOMERS POWER "

DR HANS WIJESURIYA, I THINK IT IS HIGH TIME AT LEAST YOU CAN TEACH DTV PEOPLE WHAT IS ALL ABOUT CUSTOMER POWER AND HOW TO MANAGE A
COMPANY PROFESSIONALLY

As for the Admin's fact that channel positions have changed, I can confirm thats true.

Got home last night after a really hard day, slammed on the couch, only to see my favorites are all haywire.

Anyway, no big complaints had they introduced a cool new channel, but sad to see its only SET SAB.

I also concur with some other bloggers, it seems Nushad & Hans are from totally different planets when it comes to the strategic vision in taking DialogTV forward.

....duh it's not a kiddies channel...it's made for teens and youth...not preschoolers.....

KIDO-BLACKBERRY-CMB IS REMOVING THE CHANNELS AS REQUESTED BY THE BLOGGERS HERE,MOST OF THE BLOGGERS WOULD HAVE REQUESTED FOR THE REMOVAL OF ANIMAX SO HE WOULD HAVE REMOVED SAME.

THE BEST THING IS TO SEND MAIL TO TO KIDO-BLACKBERRY-CMB TO REVERSE THE DECESION BECAUSE LOT OF PEOPLE LIKE ANIMAX.AND DEPENDING ON THE RESPONSE KIDO WILL DEFENEITLY DO THAT AS HE HAS ALWAYS.

I called up Dialog today and a 'superviser' there told me that they plan on reintroducing Animax as soon as they can, although he failed to give me any idea of how soon.
This has to be taken at face value and we should demand that Animax be put back on the line up. It was actually more popular than people realise, so the only way to make good on our investments is to force them to bring in what we, the customers want!

I wont make a fuss as its one of the least watched channels on my lineup. Though i wont mind if they replace it with a better channel, disney or something similar rather than SAB shite.

Customer Service in Dialog has gone to the dogs!!!! My husband had to call the hotline 4 times to receive clarification regarding a business letter has sent. Agents also seem to be clueless and they seem to be very arrogant!!!!...They really need to pull up their socks and improve their call center...
