Dialog will be adding Discovery HD World from tomorrow 09th September 2012 taking them to a total of 5 HD channels in their HD pack. The channel will be available at no additional cost to existing HD pack subscribers.
This is indeed a very good move by Dialog TV & we commend their commitment to add educational channels which benefit everyone from young school children to older folk since there is something new for everyone to learn from these educational channels.
According to information being received the feed is supposedly Indian as is with the SD Discovery Channels. We are unable to confirm whether this channel is commercial free or not.
We sincerely hope that Dialog TV will speed up the MPEG2 to MPEG4 conversion so that transponder space can be freed up for new channels. We strongly urge Dialog to refrain from replacing International Channels with local ones.
Please keep us updated with the latest on Dialog TV as the days progress.

We wont Hindi Movies Channels.Only one Chanel give movies for us "Set MAX" Star Plus,Sony Set,ZEE TV,Color NO MOVIES.
Why don't give us movies Channels???
Well as far as I know, Discovery channel has several feeds in globe but the Discovery HD is one feed todate.
From middle east to eastern asia Discovery HD world is one channel.
Their contents are more or less better than NGC. Yet all pictures are true HD and no upscaled contents aired.
Meanwhile MTV is not in the lineup. They says call 077 7 569 569 and channel has that white-sceen-of-death.
Is there a star cricket HD ? Can dialog add it?
@Sulantha,
Yes there is. I guess Dialog shouldn't have problems getting the channel since they already have ESPN HD which is from the same broadcaster ESS. Anyway I'm not sure if they are actually working to add it or not.
If they can, it will be great during the T20 matches.
we wont 100 more channels.
I'm so happy that dialog tv introduced another hd channel.but both discovery and ngc have the same kind of programs ..so I thought tensport or another movie channel get more attraction of those who didn't get hd pack yet.
can anyone tell me which satellite companies give 24/7 cricket channel without any indian feed like channel9,willo tv,sky
Yes adding Discovery HD World is a good move. As far as I know this feed will be Indian, but not crappy as SD version and it's commercial free.
Does anyone know what happnd to mtv?
it is good if they remove mtv india and add that sirasa or mtv ASIa
PLEASE, ADD STAR CRICKET HD, WE WANT TO WATCH T20 WITH HD
My thinking is why DTV did a time sharing during olimpics if they had space on HD platform.... ??
@Nokia
because their not planned to introduce TEN HD or Star cricket HD to the HD lineup..
There's nothing worth watching in Discovery hd. What a waste of a HD slot...I think dialog get that channel free or for a bargain price thats why while so many subscribers demand for movie,sport channels.
@Nokia: Good question.
I think it has something to do with not having sufficient HD encoders. (Each encoder can only encode about 4 channels if I'm not mistaken).
So since Dialog launched the HD service in a hurry, they probably didn't have the necessary MPEG4 HD encoders to add more channels. Now they should be able (in theory) to add another 3 channels along with Discovery HD ...
are they goona add star cricket HD when the ICC T20 WC. any news guys.
dialog have no plan to add star cricket HD in to the lineup, i called the Callcenter they mentioned that if there any news they will let us know.
As per the info I got Sirasa will come in DTV line up for sure and DTV is doing a major change on their system to impliment another service....
A brand new service to come it seems but not sure what it is... And this dosent have to do with the content of DTV but the Service...
If anyone get more info please share... I too will seek for info :)
