Dialog TV are planning to launch a local channel called "Citi Hitz" on their platform. According to unconfirmed sources this channel will be showcasing Sri Lankan television drama's and movies.
Information about this channel is sketchy but we hope that more information will arrive in due course. The channel is supposed to commence testing on October 2nd 2007 and launch on October 10th 2007. According to unconfirmed sources it seems that due to space constraints on the transponders this channel will replace Animax. However Animax is set to return back on Dialog TV once the fourth transponder is activated. If this is correct then we believe that this will be a very bad move by Dialog TV since this will reduce the number of English language channels by one. They should remove an existing Hindi channel and replace it with "Citi Hitz" and then the Hindi channel can be reintroduced once the fourth transponder is ready. We hope that Dialog TV will not make any attempts to remove Animax. We said previously that Dialog TV could replace Animax temporarily only if they are contemplating introducing another English Language channel such as Disney, ect under the condition that it is returned when the fourth transponder is ready. If "Citi Hitz" replaces Animax then we believe that the subscribers should call and ask Dialog to reintroduce Animax by removing some run of the mill Hindi channel.
It seems that there has been some severe pixelation on Nat Geo last night and we hope that this does not happen again. Some subscribers are complaining of loss of commentary on Ten Sports ever since it returned after it was taken off air due to some technical issue. We hope that the technical team sorts this matter out immediately. The EPG on Animal Planet needs to be corrected.

Are you guys mad to remove Annimax. Its one of better chnnels when compair to other hindi crap. so remove one of them instead of annimax. According to annimax schedule they are going to show scifi series "Andomeda" from october and by removeing this channel all scifi lovers won't be able to view this. So pls keep this channel on.

It is rather surprising that very few people complain about this pixalation problem.
You have mentioned that pixelation is only in Nat Geo channell. But for me almost all the chanells have this pixelation problem. HBO group is the worst. It is very difficult to watch fast moving and dark objects as there is very heavy pixelation.
About two three weeks back that some mates informed that DTV had brought equipment and they are improving the channell quality.
Mates what happened to that ? I am really frustrated. Is not there any way for them to improve the channell quality ?
On the other hand replacing Animax with a Loacl channel will be a bad choise. Lot of kids watch Animax and they will be really upset with this move of DTV. As you have suggested it is better to replace a Hindi channell and introduce new local channell.
After all, DTV has very few channell allocated for chilrden and is there any logic to reduce that number by one.
As far as I know, these channels can be removed from Dialog TV without losing the contract to broadcast:-
1. Vh1
2. Animax
3. SET
4. SET MAX
5. SET SAB
So they have already replaced SET SAB. Maybe SET too will be replaced by the Hindu channel. So then only Animax can be removed (Vh1 is way more important).
SET MAX won't be removed because of cricket broadcasts.
If they remove Zee TV for a long time, they may lose contracts for ALL Zee channels (including Zee Cafe and Zee Studio).
So Dialog probably does not have much of a choice in the matter. Wish they could hurry up with TP4...

I dont think removing Animax will do any good. It is going to diversify content with movies and TV series. They've already started doing that with Supernatural S1 and some english movies.

There is no need to attack me.
Someone mentioned that a Hindu channel will be coming soon. That someone has a record of providing good information for some time now, so I believe him.
And what I say about the channel removal business is not a bull's output. It is merely what I understand of what is going on right now. And it seems to be correct.
I have been watching the way channels have been removed and replaced for ages, and only now I am telling this to everyone. Because I want to be careful (Some Sri Lankan people are very snappy).

I called DTV cust care today.
and i asked them to enable the commentary audio stream allocated to TENSPORTS. (which was disabled after 24th oct)
After sometime (1hour) they enabled it.
Now we can watch the SL vs ENG cricket series with commentary.

yes. You are correct. I also was waatching the WWE unforgiven. First there were no commentry and after a while( in the last hour or so.) commmentry came at once. So now would be able to watcht the match tomorow.

Some one spoke about sri lankan's first security personal with a blackberry??
Actually I am a security personal with a normal gprs phone which i use to browse internet when I am on duty. It's a simple thing. I am using opera mini browser to do that. I am not usually commenting because my English is not good enough.
So security person with a blackberry is not a big deal.
During the telecast of 20/20, did anyone notice that the live telecast on DTV was almost 30 seconds behind the Sirasa. I could watch a ball being balled on Sirasa and then turn to DTV and see it all over again as a replay.
Sirasa tv used one satellite (South Africa to Sri Lanka)for INTElSAT7 and Sirasa to your home(Terrestrial)
Dialogtv used three Satellite [South Africa to Hong Kong(Espn star) Hong Kong to Sri lanka(Dialogtv)for ASIASAT3 AND Dialogtv used INTELSAT12.

Maximum delay 10 Seconds.
