December mess up's & muck up's, BBC Entertainment & more

With today BBC Entertainment will cease to exist on Dialog TV since they will be withdrawing operations from the subcontinent in a largely India centric move. We hope Dialog would be able to secure another feed of the channel such as the asian feed which will continue to being available. If not we hope that the channel is replaced by another channel which is a General Entertainment channel with a Non Indian feed.

In other news the much awaited launch of Prepaid Dialog TV has been delayed for a few weeks now. We believe that Dialog may launch it just in time for the festive season maybe in a week or so.

We urge the Dialog TV management to speed the conversion of MPEG2 to MPEG4 since Dialog is spending far too much money per channel on a transponder. With MPEG4 Dialog will be able to increase the number of channels that can be carried by a transponder making carrying a channel cheaper and gives them the ability to increase the number of channels on the platform. This is something that we have highlighted on this blog several times but no action has been taken so far.

We believe Revision TV will be going off air soon as the Ordinary Examination is over, since it was initially a temporary replacement whether this channel will be replaced by a revamped CitiHitz or another is still not known.

Whatever it is December promises to be a month of action since December is traditionally the month of Dialog TV mess up's & muck up's making Dialog TV terribly naughty during the festive season. It has held true for the last few years. Only time will tell of what Dialog TV has planned for this year. So will they be naughty or nice (if it's nice, then it will be a first)... we should be able find out soon enough.

Please keep us updated on the latest on Dialog TV as the days progress.
