Siyatha TV now on Dialog TV

Sri Lanka's latest FTA Sinhala Language television channel Siyatha TV commenced testing transmissions over Dialog TV from last night. The channel occupies the No. 7 slot which was blank ever since Dialog TV rearranged their lineup.

Please keep us updated on the latest on Dialog TV as the days commence.

Our hope for another best channel is over...
We don't want DTV to broadcast sri lankan channels. we want is good international quality entertainment.

@Vishwaje

You are wrong
Dont think about only your self
think about people living in remote areas...
They cant watch all those local channel, mostly 2-3 channels but not clear. DTV is their only hope..

Hi,
I agree with both of you. But we only had one slot remaining.....

If they convert for MPEG 4 can they have more space to add more channels?

Wow ,Another Cool move of Dialog Tv(According to my view),In future they will include their 5th transponder by Software Upgrading guys...........

@ Vishwaje,
pls dont tell foolish talk as that.
Some villages & areas not cover yet by any television channel. example i cant see Derana, Sirasa, Max tv by yagee or any other normal antena. i like to add sirasa tv from chanal. ( If U dont know this most DTV Customers are Lite 100(now299 & 500)customers.

Conny said...

the Lite 100 pkg is no more. it is Lite 500. for DTV, 100 and 500, both figures are LITE. but it is a big amount for rural villagers and who will pay 15000/- & 500 bucks per month to watch local channels ?????

so our huge hopes for the remaining slot is gone with this stupid local channel. shit really upsetting.

hmmmmm... if DTV brought siyatha On to their platform that should mean that DTV will also bring Vettri TV to their platform too....

So, everyone should expect that too.

Don't lose hopes...

Now People are watching noisy & grainy analog pictures in most areas or nothing.
Its true lot of people use Dialog TV to get local TV channels, without land lines they can't get PEOTV also.
After switch over to DVB-T,digital terrestrial TV, until broadcasters put thousands of TV towers on hill tops like mobile towers, it will be 'NO SIGNAL' on there TV screens with setop box.
TRC & our TV broadcasters soon will realize DTH is the only & best way to cover Srilanka. All Sirasa plus & less TV channels will end up in Dialogtv or another DTH platform.

DTV can replace the DTV Demo channel if they really want to add a new channel.

Are there any programs running in Nenasa??

Siyatha Tv is a dumb and dead channel.DTV is wasting valuable space and they must be getting payed by Siyatha to telecast this channel.I do not see any future for this channel.Sorry but this is my persona opinion

Hey I'm tellin ya that our only way to watch international channels is DTV. PEO TV is not spread yet. My point is local broadcasters should cover sri lanka. We want quality international channel lineup with quality pictures. I'm in polonnaruwa district too. (rural) Because of DTV we have a chance to go beyond what we saw earlier. We can watch world class football to true Hollywood blockbusters. And also up to date knowledge with natgeo+discovery.

Is our local channels have that???
They broadcast old documentaries over and over.
They broadcast crick+adds not Cricket.
They broadcast their own movie collection over and over.
Is they have good kiddies programs.
NO
But They have interesting lineup.
It's their way of television.
As DTV customers (also we pay for what we see) we want more....

@ Vishwaje,

I am confused with what you are talking..

u are comparing the local channels with the channel line up of DTV...

almost all the local channels are FTA ( FREE TO AIR ) channels which can be viewed by anyone at anytime...they earn their revenue by giving airtime for ads...

but international channels earn their revenue by letting other cable or satellite broadcasters broadcast their channels...
Ex: DTV should pay for HBO to get it and show it over DTV dish...( but DTV does not pay for local channels to get and show them over DTV dish )

so those international channels should have quality and up-to-date programs... if not cable and dish service providers would not subscribe for those kinda channels...

know the difference between FTA and international commercial channels.. hope I made myself clear to you..

There is a misunderstanding.
So I'm telling ya the same thing.
It's their way of television.
BUT
We don't want FTA by DTV connection.
We are paying to watch quality international channels. I know their are lots of people out there they can't watch local channels. But I'm telling that DTV should not include all local channels. because we have popular local channels in DTV lineup. Now all new FTA local channels are filling DTV lineup.
If DTV is not going to MPEG4 how they put all new local channels...and also international channels.

hellbreez said...

some FTA channels do pay a " carraige fee" meaning they pay for the bandwith on a monthly basis to DTH providers.Since there are about 1000 channels available and limited bandwith space some FTA channels do pay this fee and get the channel on board.SO I'm sure Siyatha must be doing the same and even MAX Tv.As mentioned Siyatha is just anoother channel and nothing good we can talk about. Its like we going to sunday pola. You get everything and anything worthless.I dont see anything good happening. We are paying 2250 a month and do we really have to get a local FTA channel??When others watch it free? Also Nenasa they cannot scramble the channel cos we pay for all 75 odd channels!!!There is a legal point.

is anyone know, why star movies has no extended information in DTV EPG?
Their web site has extended information.
I think star wars is Friday around 5-6 PM.
Also, why cartoon net work has no info on EPG?

HI,

DOES 'DIALOG' STILL BROADCAST ANY CHANNELS ON DVB-T PLATFORM WHICH THEY STARTED FEW MONTHS BACK?

ONE OF MY MATES WORKING FOR DTV SAID, DIALOG IS STILL AIRING FEW LOCAL & INTERNATIONAL CHANNELS AS TEST TRANSMISSION FROM THEIR DVB-T TOWER IN NARAHENPITA COVERING 15 -20 KM RADIUS.

I TRIED TO SCAN THESE CHANNELS USING A DVB-T SET TOP BOX IN MOUNT LAVINIA BUT IT DIDN'T PICK UP ANY CHANNELS AT ALL..

IF YOU GUYS GOT ANY NEWS ON DIALOG DVB-T TRANSMISSION PLEASE POST HERE.. THANK YOU..!!

what happen to channel EYE ??

123 said...

Blocked.
Now NON-PREMIUM users can't watch ICC.

Mario said...

How come LBN & PEO dont have the channel EYE problem ?

rupavahini said...

channel EYE only ICC right for terrestrial transmission not for satellite transmission
LBN & PEO ONLY local telecast

චේතක said...

so, why doesn't dialog activate star cricket for all users. otherwise dialog tv becomes useless.
thanks
