In a surprising move on the 1st June, Dialog halted test channels, Trace TV, Travel XP, Da Vinci Learning & Zee Cinema International. These channels which went on air just a week or so ago vanished completely. Surprisingly all channel were made available for all packages which was more of a technical failure than a free preview.
Now almost 4 days later, the channels are still unavailable. We wonder whether the competitor had anything to do with this. Since they did not pose as much a threat that Dialog expected they may have decided to launch these channels over a longer period of time.
Only time will tell the true reason behind this move but Dialog stay on track cos if they are not on their guard, the day competition gets their act together, Dialog will be in big trouble.

BTW. On Star World "The Blacklist" (started yesterday) is also on the "blacklist" with programmes that doesn't have rights for Sri Lanka.

I'm a gold package customer , removing test channels is some thing related to the dish tv competition is not up to what expected from DTV,we can forget that
But allowing all channels to all the packages is something unreasonable, Did anyone complaint about this matter ?
since low price and high price all the customers will get all the channels

Does anybody know why Star World doesn't have the right to broadcast several programmes in Sri Lanka?
Is it maybe a money proplem. Has Dialog to pay seperate charges for these programmes?
Achim Unawatuna: That must be due to broadcasting rights issues with South East Asian channels. Do you know what SE Asian chanel airs shows like Blacklist that Star World India doesn't want to air in LK?

As far as I know it's only The Blacklist on AXN. Season one was shown on Star World. Season two is blacklisted

Issuance of DTH Licence to MTV Channel (Pvt.) Ltd
The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) (“the Commission”) was established under the Telecommunications Act as amended, and is responsible for regulating the telecommunications sector and managing the radio frequency spectrum in Sri Lanka.
MTV Channel (Pvt.) Ltd. has applied for a licence under Section 17 (2) of the Sri Lanka Telecommunications Act, No. 25 of 1991 (“the Act’) to operate a telecommunications system to provide Direct to Home (DTH) services in Sri Lanka in pursuance of the requirements set out in the Guidelines and Procedures for issuing, renewal and modification of licence under the Act, published in Gazette No. 1435/20 dated 10.03.2006.
Licence will be issued after one month notice on 12th July 2015
It'll be grate if Dialog TV could add the channel Animax :) . Also If Toonami is yet Toonami India it will be grate to change it to Toonami Asia

In celebration of reaching 500,000 connections DTV is giving all channels free until 16th July 2015.
