Information about the channel pricing and what packages they would belong to are scare. However the general feeling among subscribers is that like last time Dialog will try to lure subscribers to move to the Rs 1949/= package to view most of the new channels. Even the older subscribers in the Rs 1400/= package may be asked to pay the revised package rate of Rs 1949/= to view the new channels. According to some reports many prospective subscribers are being attracted into purchasing pay television connections by Dialogs marketing campaign but are purchasing Dish TV instead because it is cheaper. It seems that Dialogs strategy is backfiring. Even some existing Dialog subscribers are moving into Dish TV. This will be made worse if Dialog tries the luring game with the channels on the 4th TP. However there are some who are unable to invest in another pay television connection due to lack of finances and are therefore sticking to Dialog TV and hopefully Dialog does not take undue advantage of them.

I called DTV few minutes ago and they confirmed the new channels in TP4 will be available for 1400/- and 1949/- package holders free of charge. But he was unable to give me the list of new channels.. No wonder.. Typical DTV Customer care..
I have both Dish and DTV.What i have done is downgrade my package from 1400/- to 100/- in DTV and use my Dish connection.If LBN comes to my area i will surely dump DTV for LBN.

I think the රන රූ channel is only for members of the armed forces and their families. Maybe later on it will be made free-to-air for everyone to see.
And I didn't get my February guide as well. Possibly it has details of the new channels. That is if they published this month's guide at all.

It is a channel from the Derana team.it is there in order to cheer up or take the moral up of the Army.Looks like only for the army and thir families
PG Guide will get delayed by a few days to reach customers this month due to some unavoidable circumstances, at the mean time from March onwards no PG available since the 100% accurate EPG (separate page – VAS) is available for the Cx from mid Feb.

I think non of the disgusted subscribers are hanging on with DTV for any of the reasons you mentioned,its just because their is no suitable competitor and most would go for LBN if its within their vicinity.
And as for Dish TV,the thing you call illegal,people still buy it and their are more than 20000 in the country at present.I also dont like the tone of Alf,but talk sense and in this scenario he has valid point.

With reference to your point about "Buy Sri Lanka product", first of all who are the owners of Dialog? Are they Sri Lankans? No.
Are we using always Sri Lankan Products? What about Sri Lankan Tv Channels? Then, we should not telecast foreign Tv channels.
I don't thing there is any sense on thant. We all must go for quality products with price.

I'm sorry. I admit I was selfish and foolish when I posted that comment. I was upset about something else and I really shouldn't have posted that comment.
Anyway, I am not a millionaire, and if Dialog forces me to upgrade my package, I will not do so. Instead I will use a cheap package until some better competitor enters the market.
But SLT and other competitors are probably entering the market in greed for money, not to provide a good service. See what SLT has done with ADSL, 3G Internet prices.
I hope and pray that Dialog will provide some good new channels WITHOUT increasing prices.
Please lets forget about what I said and get on with life.

The channel quality seems to have gone real bad. It's worse than VCD format especially with quick moving pictures. Lots of pixelation.
Is anyone else facing this same thing? And does anyone know why the sudden and drastic change in quality?

For me the pciture quality seems to be the same as before: Awful. The good quality that was there last year for the new channels (even after the TP3 was filled) has disappeared. But if there was such a quality, that means Dialog can still attain that quality. Please, Dialog, improve the quality for your customers' sake.
And has anyone noticed that the TP4 signal quality is around 40% all the time. Or is it just my connection?

Anytime..... & TP 4 is not fully updated for Cx's.(its restricted b'caz of the test channels) most proberly this week end u can get the TP 4 in 65% - 75% quality.
