Olympic Request

Subscribers of Dialog TV are eargerly awaiting to see whether Dialog will introduce the DD channels which will be broadcasting the Beijing Olympic Games.

Since the 4th Transponder is now on and a duplicate "The Buddhist" channel has been replaced by a duplicate "CNN" which is viewable by subscribers of all packages. If you do not have the fourth transponder then we suggest that you do a rescan on your decoder which will then pickup the fourth transponder and then you will be able to watch CNN until Dialog encrypts it.

We hope that this 4th transponder will be used to telecast the Olympic Games. Those who want to watch the Olympic's should call Dialog TV and ask them to temporarily introduce the DD channels for only the Olympic Games. Temporarily because the next games will be shown on ESPN Star Sports.

MPEG4 Information

According to information being received it seems that Dialog TV is gearing up for the launch of MPEG4. Unconfirmed sources say that the new MPEG4 compatible decoder is being issued to new subscribers. Anyone who has more information/confirmation of this is welcome to comment with the relevant information.

In other information there has been no improvement in the picture quality of Dialog TV channels so far. There are rumors of Sirasa Channels coming on board Dialog TV on a seperate SET plan. 4th Transponder activated again

As of last friday Dialog TV have reactivated the 4th transponder. At the moment a duplicate "The Buddhist" television channel is being broadcast over it and the others show as "E16 : Scrambled". It looks like either Dialog is gearing up to move into MPEG4 or they should move some existing channels onto TP 4 in order to improve quality on TP 1,2 & 3.

Zone Reality replaced by NDTV Good Times

Reality Channel "Zone Reality" has been replaced with the lifestyle channel "NDTV Good Times" from yesterday. According to Zone Reality the reason for pulling out the channel from this regoin has been due to low ratings.

NDTV Good Times is supposed to be a 100% English Channel but when interviews are carried out with members of the general public then their tends to be some Hindi involved and at times they are subtitled and at times they are not. Please give us your feedback of your opinion on this channel.

Only time will tell the popularity of this channel but we still feel that a replacement such as BBC Entertainment, Disney Channel or AXN Beyond would have been better.
